    Adhering to the motto "Funding principles for a district of excellence", the Jericho School District provides the most challenging courses for only the best students. 

    This district is ranked third in the nation, for encouraging and supporting all students to take advanced courses, starting at Elementary school level, offering a tutoring program for struggling students.

     
    Of the 219 seniors who graduated from Jericho Senior High School last year, 218 passed the Regents exam, a state accreditation test, and 210 went on to four-year colleges. 
     
    The Jericho School District educates approximately 3,200 students in its five schools; Seaman Elementary, Jackson Elementary, Cantiague Elementary, Jericho Middle School and Jericho High School.  (Links to each subsection)

     

    Seaman Elementary School

    Robert Seaman Elementary School has 386 students ranging from Kindergarten to 5th grade.  The student/teacher ratio is 9 with 32 full time and 8 part time teachers.  The average experience for a teacher at the school is 18 years and 96% of teachers have their Master’s degree.  Students in grades three through five scored in the 98th to 100th percentile for math and 94th to 100th percentile for English and Language Arts.  These percentages represent the number of students meeting or exceeding the educational standards of New York State.

    George A. Jackson Elementary School has 492 students in the Kindergarten through 5th grades.  The student/teacher ratio is 11 with 39 full time and 9 part time teachers.  The average experience for a teacher at the school is 16 years and 93% of teachers have their Master’s degree.  Students in grades three through five scored in the 97th to 100th percentile for math and 94th to 100th percentile for English and Language Arts.  These percentages represent the number of students meeting or exceeding the educational standards of New York State.

    The Cantiague Elementary School educates 418 students in the Kindergarten through 5th grades.  The student/teacher ratio is 10 with 35 full time and 6 part time teachers.  The average experience for a teacher at the school is 13 years and 95% of teachers have their Master’s degree.  Students in grades three through five scored in the 99th to 100th percentile for math and 92nd to 100th percentile for English and Language Arts.  These percentages represent the number of students meeting or exceeding the educational standards of New York State.

    The Jericho Middle School educates 833 students in the 6th through 8th grades.  The student/teacher ratio is 9 with 64 full time and 42 part time teachers.  The average experience for a teacher at the school is 12 years and 91% of teachers have their Master’s degree or higher.  Students in grades six through eight scored in the 88th to 97th percentile for math and 91st to 93rd percentile for English and Language Arts.  These percentages represent the number of students meeting or exceeding the educational standards of New York State.

    Long Island University- CW Post Campus

    The C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University is one of the most beautiful, historic and scholarly settings in the country. Its 307-acre campus is located in the Village of Brookville. C.W. Post offers more than 260 bachelor's, master's and doctoral programs to 8,700 students from every part of the world. Its academic programs carry elite accreditations, signifying they meet the highest standards of quality.
